BIG Golf, BIG Improvements, BIG Changes!

TPC Sawgrass Tournament: Surprise Date:
Just in case you're waiting for the Kentucky Derby, Mother's Day and TPC in May, hold on to your calendars. Our spectacular TPC Sawgrass tournament has been moved to March 12th-17th. The signature event of the Spring is leaving its berth in May, ending on Mother's Day. It's exciting news, but we'll certainly miss seeing so many golfers in pink during May's breast cancer awareness on Mother's Day. Tickets are available now at ThePlayers.com (don't wait, with the earlier date it's best to get your tickets now).
The PGA has made the change permanent by "trading places" with the PGA Championship that will now be held in May, one week prior to Memorial Day. In announcing the decision, the PGA's CEO Pete Bevacqua said "In weighing the complex evolution of the golf calendar, the PGA of America's key objectives were to promote the best interests of our signature spectacular Championship, do what is best for the game, and find the most advantageous platform to fulfill our mission of serving nearly 29,000 PGA Professionals and growing the game."
As always, the TPC this March will draw the finest golfers in the world. The players have until March 8th to officially commit. Watch and hope for former winners, Jason Day, Webb Simpson, Justin Rose, Brooks Koepka, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Phil Nicholson, Ricky Fowler and scores of other top performers signing up to bring us some unforgettable moments in professional sports.
Not only was this date change amazing news, but the leadership is building an incredible 187,000 square foot ultra-modern headquarters here in Ponte Vedra. It will house its 800 employees under one roof, consolidated from 17 buildings scattered about the area. The PGA Tour has broken ground on this project with site work well underway. The expected completion target is late 2020. In addition, course renovation abound include the ionic 17th Island Green.

PGA's Impact on Housing
Although many PGA employees already live in Ponte Vedra, many more will be moving here. That will be a great boon to our already-thriving local economy and housing market. With more people moving in, ancillary businesses will also, along with their own need for homes. This should keep our new construction business hopping. In the short term, values of existing homes should stay strong, and should enjoy insulation from a housing market that's expected to cool at the national level. Moreover, interest rates are still low (even after multiple hikes), and winter is always a great season for Ponte Vedra sellers (regardless of market condition).
My family and I are really excited about TPC every Spring and this year's looks to be one of the very best. I hope to see you soon - maybe on the 17th Island Green!
